The Nevada Development Authority (NDA) launched a television advertising campaign on Wednesday, June 10, 2010, in California to attract business owners to relocate to Southern Nevada. The campaign highlights the benefits of doing business in Nevada and features a new texting component which offers interested business owners a new convenient way to connect with the NDA.

The campaign is not NDA’s first foray into California media. "Last year we had a lot of success with our ‘Kiss Your Assets Goodbye’ campaign during the height of the California economic crisis,” said Somer Hollingsworth, NDA president and CEO. The California budget crisis continues to plague the state with many lawmakers proposing solutions containing additional business taxes. “We want to continue building on the momentum that Las Vegas has the Best Business Climate in the U.S. and reach those business owners who feel strangled by their state’s current economic climate,” stated Hollingsworth.

Once again, the campaign will highlight Nevada's business-friendly attitude and the fact that business owners do not pay any corporate or personal income tax and have much lower workers' compensation rates. A new element is that those interested in relocating their businesses to Southern Nevada will now be able to text a code featured in the ads thereby prompting the NDA to contact them personally. The ads will air on Southern California television stations through August of this year.

The advertising campaign consists of television commercials that illustrate the contrast between California and Nevada’s business environments. It is supported by publicity, grassroots and viral marketing efforts.
